Ok, I am sold. Where can I purchase your products?

Propet is a wholesale distributor. Unfortunately, we do not sell directly to the public. We only sell our products through Authorized Dealers. Please visit our Store Locator to find a store near you or use our Online Retailer listing to find the most convenient way to try our products.

This one is not quite right. What is your Return Policy?

If you are a consumer, you will need to contact the retailer or website where you purchased the shoes to find out about their return policy. We are a wholesale distributor and do not sell to the public so therefore; there is no way for us to refund you for your purchase.

For this same reason, we do not offer exchanges or returns for consumers. You will need to contact the business where you originally purchased your shoes to make any return arrangements. We understand it can sometimes be difficult to remember where you originally purchased the shoes, especially when you buy them online. Therefore, it's best to refer to your purchase/order confirmation email to identify the website where you purchased the shoes. (Sometimes your packing list may have the Propet name on it because we often ship shoes from our warehouse for our online partners.)

Where can I find a particular shoe? Did you drop my favorite style?

We know that many of our customers prefer to stick with the styles they know and love. And, we wish we could keep all of our styles for those fans. The challenge we always have is balancing our business needs and customer loyalty. While we dislike dropping styles that we know have a fan base, sometimes that fan base is not large enough to justify keeping a particular style in production. And, we are committed to introducing new and exciting products to keep our line fresh and updated. Therefore, we simply have to drop some styles each season.

If you are looking for a particular style and don't see it on our website, that means we are no longer making it. If a style has been discontinued, we recommend searching the internet (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) to determine if there is a retailer who may still have some of these shoes in stock. If you cannot find it online, we hope you will try another style in our current offering. Many of the products we introduce on a regular basis were designed to be improvements or updates to older styles.

Shoes fit so differently, how do I find the right size?

Finding the right size can be difficult because shoe fit varies for many reasons. The first reason is that everyone's feet are different and with most people, right and left feet can vary in size, width and shape. Since no two feet are exactly alike, shoes from different manufacturers may vary a great deal in fit by design. Second, manufacturers develop their own style of fit mostly based on philosophy, as well as geography (people in different regions tend to have similar foot types). Additionally, materials and manufacturing variations can affect the fit-creating a lot of possible variations on any one pattern. At Propét, we strive to put some adjustment in each of our styles to create the most flexibility in fit.

To ensure a good fit, we recommend occasionally having your feet measured with a Brannock device or Ritz Stick since feet can change significantly over time. We compare our shoes to the Brannock for sizing. Additionally, it can be helpful to visit websites where customers have commented on how shoes fit to see if a particular style is running large or small.

To convert an international size to US sizing, use this International Shoe Size Conversion Chart. While there are many conversion chart options that can be found with an internet search, we recommend this chart for use with Propét shoes.

Houston, we have a problem. Does Propet offer replacement laces?

We stock many different types and colors of laces. We are happy to send you a free pair of replacement laces, using the closest match we have.

My shoes have developed, hmm shall we say... an odor? Does Propet offer replacement insoles?

If hand-washing your insoles with water and a mild detergent does not do the trick, we recommend Spenco for their wide variety of replacement insoles.

I have to be careful with what I wear. Do you use latex in your products?

Yes, most of our products use glue that contains latex. In the interest of your health, Propet does not recommend any particular products to people, given the potential for allergic reactions to certain chemicals.

Somehow... my shoes have gotten dirty. How do I clean my Propet shoes?

Dirt, sand and grit will degrade the materials in your shoes, particularly the leather, glue and stitching. We recommend keeping your shoes clean for best results.

Normal shoe cleaning guidelines:

The key to cleaning footwear is to not soak the shoes or boots. Use enough soapy water to clean, but as little as possible. When drying, do not use excessive heat because this can damage the leather, glues and sole materials.

  1. Remove excess dirt first. Use a soft-bristled brush (shoe brush, old toothbrush) to clean the outsole.
  2. Mix warm water and a small amount of mild detergent so the mixture is slightly soapy but not too sudsy.
  3. Use a sponge, soft cloth or soft brush to apply a small amount of your soapy water to clean the shoes.
  4. Using another sponge or soft cloth, apply a small amount of warm water to remove any excess detergent.
  5. Air dry the shoes at room temperature keeping them away from heat sources.
  6. Repeat, if necessary.

We recommend shoe cleaning products from Nikwax. Saddle soap and Sno-Seal can soften leather, so please be aware that leather can change if you use these products.

Unless your Propet shoes are marked as Washable, we do not recommend putting them in the washing machine. Please check our website for the Washable icon. This icon indicates which styles may be washed in a washing machine.

Propet 'Washable' shoe cleaning guidelines:

  1. Knock off loose dirt with a soft-bristled brush or sponge: remove the insoles.
  2. Wash on regular cycle, cold water setting.
  3. Air dry the shoes at room temperature, keeping them away from heat sources.

Do you have slip-resistant shoes?

We offer a few styles that are slip resistant. There is a rating listed for each style to show their performance on different types of flooring material. Please take a look at our Men's Slip Resistant styles and our Women's Slip Resistant styles to find what is available.

I have special feet.

Do you carry narrow or wide widths?

Yes, we are known for our variety of widths. Please check our Shop By Width page to find the styles available in the perfect width for you. We also offer adjustability in most of our styles to help accommodate variations in your feet and to allow you to customize the fit.

Do you carry large and small sizes?

We carry large and small sizes in many styles; from women's size 5 to men's size 18. Our Shop By Hard To Find Sizes page will help you find the styles we offer in your size.

Do you carry shoes that stretch?

Yes! We carry shoes that have a little extra give for those of us who have ailments like hammertoes, overlapping toes, bunions and bunionettes. The stretchable nature of the materials used in these shoes ensures a comfortable fit with no binding or excessive pressure on sensitive areas. Are any of your shoes designed for diabetics?

It is essential that people with diabetes take extra care with their feet. We offer a wide variety of styles that are specifically designed for diabetics (many of these styles are also great for people with arthritis or other foot and/or lower body ailments). You can identify these shoes by the A5500 icon, which means they have been Medicare approved. We also offer A5512 Medicare coded insoles.
